Looking back with the IAC
By Moises "Cuso" Ortiz, IAC 9127 EAA 202174
My name is Moises Cuso Ortiz, but in the aviation community everyone knows me as Cuso. I have been a member of EAA and the IAC since 1982. I had liked aerobatics since I saw Jim Holland flying an airshow in Puerto Rico in 1969 using a Champion Citabria 7KCAB. When he took off and half rolled it in front of us and flew inverted I said "I want to do that someday". That airshow took place on August 30, 1969.

The first time I met Tom Poberezney and his family was in 1986.

When I went to the 1986 IAC Competition in Fund Du Lac I had the chance to meet Harold Neumann, the famous air racing and aerobatic pilot. He flew in a Monocoupe that you can see in this picture. Very nice guy. |

In 1987 I competed in Fond Du Lac in the Sportsman category using a 1966 Champion Citabria and won the Highest Scoring First Time Sportsman award. I was so happy.

I appeared with my Citabria on the front page of Sport Aerobatics magazine in the November 1994 issue. |
