Peter’s Acro Resume:
I started flying aerobatics in 2013 and have completed every year since 2014, my first contest in Primary then up through the categories to Unlimited starting in 2018. My initial acro training was in a Citibria 150hp. I started acro in an RV-4. Moved into a Pitts S1-S. Then Pitts S2-B and finally into the Giles. I have flown a couple of extra 300l's, Yak 52 and 55, and a Gamebird. I have had coaching from Bob Higbee, Lew Schattuck, Les Mitchel, Peter Herzeg, Jim Bourke, Will Allen and Ben Freelove.
I start the season by flying all the known sequences for each category. I hold a long term practice waiver at my box next to my airport where I fly most weekends. I believe in teaching where to look and what to look for, over direct action. ie, where to put the stick for a maneuver.  I enjoy working with people and get great satisfaction from seeing people make improvements in themselves.

Christian Baxter
I have been flying aerobatics for 15 years starting in a Super D, then buying a Pitts S-1, followed by an Extra 300L and now the Extra 330SC. I flew my first contest in 2015 and have been competing in Unlimited since 2020 in the 330SC and Gamebird GB1.  I recently acquired a DHC-1 Chipmunk which I’m not sure I’ll ever compete in but it has definitely reconnected me with aerobatics in lower-performance aircraft. I really enjoy coaching all aspects of the sport and am always happy to dive into figures, theory, sequence design, competition prep, efficient practice—anything that helps you progress. My goal is for students to leave camp with an expanded skill set and a clear understanding of where to focus their individual practice. Before and after camp, I’m always available to review videos, AcroWRX files, or just answer questions. As a lot, we tend to try and work things out on our own and this isn’t an efficient way to get better; coaching is a great way to accelerate the process.

Corvallis Corkscrew - July 18 - 19, 2025

Also at Corvallis this summer is The Corvallis Corkscrew Competition!

The 9th annual Corvallis Corkscrew, set in the beautiful, lush, temperate Willamette Valley,  the city of Corvallis is the home of Oregon State University and a fantastic airport. We offer numerous lodging and dining opportunities. There are many activities for non-flying family members.

The contest is hosted at an uncontrolled field with 2 runways, 5000 ft and 2800 ft. We have a well-marked, waivered aerobatic box located directly over the field.

For more information and to register, visit the contest page.
