The purpose of “The Leo Award”, National Point Series Championship (NPSC), is to recognize IAC competition pilots who achieve the highest percentage of point possible during a calendar year from three different regions (in a given category).

Scores were pulled from the IAC Contest Database (IACCDB) through August 3, 2024 to get a mid-season status. We have several pilots who need one more region added to their results to qualify.   Things will get interesting as more contests are added, especially for pilots that fly Nationals and haven't already flown a South-Central region contest this year.

Primary
No pilots with more than 1 region through 8/3/24.
50 different Primary pilots with 1 region each.

Sportsman
So far one pilot having flown in 3 regions and leading the charge for the Sportsman Leo - Mark Haven.
To day, four pilots have flown in 2 regions with Ruben Alconero narrowly leading Trevor Smith.

Intermediate
We have 2 pilots in Intermediate that have flown in 2 regions, Phillip Gragg and Robert Haag, with Phillip leading in points after 2 regions.
We have 39 pilots that have flown in 1 region each.

Advanced
At this point in the season, we have three pilots that have flown in 2 regions each, Craig Fitzerald, Barret Hines and Tom Myers with their cumulative point scores in that order.
In addition to these three pilots, 31 other pilots have completed in one region in Advanced.

Unlimited
There are three Unlimited pilots that have flown in 2 regions so far this year, Mike Gallaway, Peter Gelinas and Ekaterina Volkova.  Peter is leading in points followed by Mike and then Ekaterina.  
Nine other pilots have flown in a single region so far in Unlimited.
