Rob Holland on the podium at WAC 2024

Rob Holland WAC 2024

The 32nd FAI World Aerobatic Championships came to a close on August 24 with the Closing Ceremony and a Farewell Party. Congratulations to USA Team Captain Rob Holland on finishing up with an overall third place bronze medal and reclaiming the Four-minute Freestyle championship (Now his sixth time winning the prestigious award.)

"I'm pretty happy with my results leaving with A Gold medal in the Freestyle, Bronze overall in the "Classical" and 2 Silver and one Bronze Flight medals. It has been a crazy few weeks to get here", Rob wrote on his Facebook page.

He went on to send out his thanks to many teammates, friends and family. "Real special thank you to my teammate AJ Wilder for his inspiring hard work and dedication, our fearless Team Manager Alice Johnson and her husband Steve, and the endless help and hard work from Chris and Mary Beth Rudd.

"Mike Ciliberti for his efforts to help the team and also to Johnny Wacker who despite an injury made the trip anyway to support the team. And a big thank you to my Family, Friends and Sponsors for the endless help and encouragement. And to Jennifer and Buddy for the never-ending support."

He made the post from Luxembourg while getting ready to disassemble his plane. A quick turnaround was needed as he had to get it back to the United States for an airshow the next weekend in Batavia New York!

"Two years till the next World Championship...I've got some work to do, and the preparation starts now!!"

During the flight he debuted a new Tumble. He spent the year leading up to this Super Inside Tumble. "I decided not to publish any video it. I wanted the Judges' first time seeing it to truly be their first time seeing it." While he won't be including this tumble in his remaining 2024 airshows he will be introducing it into his 2025 airshow season.
