Status Report - May 2012

Introduction

The goal of this report is to keep both the IACWEB team and the IAC leadership apprised of our progress to date, tasks remaining, and any major open issues.

Accomplishments

The Look and Feel team (Jim WardLaurie ZaleskiRafa Soldan) delivered Version 1.0 of the Style Guide.

Editing Team (Lorrie PennerTrisha RobertsLynn BowesTrish Deimer-Steineke):

  • Finished reviewing and updating all legacy content
  • Received new articles on Intro to Aresti (Part 1 of 2) from Brian Howard, and 
  • Collected members photos to be used in the web site's "banner" area.
  • Received new regional map diagram from Wayne Roberts

Webmaster (DJ Molny):

  • Fixed a multitude of broken links, most caused by the migration process from the legacy site
  • Started implementing the look and feel specified in the Style Guide
  • Provided tech support to Tim Walter as he develops the nationals.iac.org mini-site
  • Received executive approval on the Legal Notices page

Next Steps

Significant tasks remaining:

  • Finish implementing the new look & feel. Revised target date: 6/30.
  • Define the new menu hierarchy, and categorize each content page accordingly. Target date: was 5/15, revised to 6/30.
  • Once these tasks are complete, I think we should ask a select group of beta testers to review and play with the site for a month or so. In parallel, I'll be finishing up some behind-the-scenes tasks on the server.

Revised target launch date for the parity release: 8/1/2012.
